Terms of Hire
Rates
Our vehicle hire rates are determined by vehicle type, and market conditions at different seasons of the year. Rates quoted are only guaranteed at the time quoted and are subjected to terms and conditions.
Vehicle hire works on a 24 hour basis with a minimum of 2 days rental. e.g. if you hire a vehicle at 9 a.m. and return it by 9 a.m. the next day, this would be considered one day. Extra charges will be applied if the vehicle is returned late.
All rates quoted include unlimited mileage.
Age and License Requirements
Drivers must be over 25 but not older than 70 years old. Each driver must have held a valid driving licence for at least 5 years at the time of hire.
It should be noted that all visitors to the island must be issued with a Barbados driver’s permit. BCR Inc. can supply this providing there is a valid driver’s licence from their country of origin. The cost of the permit is US$5.00 and it is valid for 2 months.
Booking confirmation
Reservations are not finalised until a confirmation e-mail is received from our office, and there is a payment of a 10% non-refundable deposit.
Extension of Hire
Requests for extension of the hire should be made 24 hours ahead of the return date, while we make every effort to allow extensions they are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
Credit Card Collision Coverage
Some credit card companies offer collision coverage benefits. As in many types of coverages there are limitations, and clients should check carefully to verify the coverage they have. If the client has purchased excess waiver from another source and has an accident during the hire, the damages incurred up to a maximum of US$1,250.00 must be settle with BCR Inc. . We will then supply the documentation required to facilitate reclaim, if applicable. Clients must have a valid credit card so we can authorise a security hold if deemed necessary.
The Excess Waiver is voided if the client has an accident, and must be purchased again for the rest of the hire.
Additional Charges
Charges for hire, excess waiver, petrol, child car seats and GPS units are subject to 17.5% VAT. Government taxes shown herein are subject to change without notice.
Tyre Policy
Tyre damage is not covered by our Excess Waiver. Flat tyres are repaired free of charge, but if a tyre or rim has been damaged beyond repair, the client will be charged for the cost of replacement. It is therefore imperative that clients check the tyres carefully when the vehicle is delivered to them.
